“OmniGlobe: Bringing Spherical Data to Life”
Abstract:
Join Andrew on an adventure to develop software that brings graphics and data to life on an OmniGlobe spherical display. His talk will cover the technical challenges he faced and the solutions he tried, and will illustrate some interesting and fun use cases.
Bio:
Andrew Ackerman is a principal full stack software developer as Sandia National Laboratories. He received his master’s in computer science from UCLA in 2009 and has been working at Sandia Labs for over 15 years. Specializing in user interface development, he has built and maintained software for various scientific modeling and simulation packages. In his free time he likes to have fun with his wife and daughter, play chess and video games online, and shoot arrows from horseback.
