Congratulations to Professor Rafail Ostrovsky for being elected as a Foreign Member of Academia Europaea class of 2019. The object of Academia Europaea is the advancement and propagation of excellence in scholarship in the humanities, law, the economic, social, and political sciences, mathematics, medicine, and all branches of natural and technological sciences anywhere in the world for the public benefit and for the advancement of the education of the public of all ages. The class of 2019 members includes only 20 members in the area of Informatics, and only two members within Informatics are in the research area of Theoretical Computer Science, including Professor Ostrovsky and Turing Award winner Professor Leslie Valiant from Harvard.
