Professor Miryung Kim served as a Program Chair of ACM Joint European Software Engineering Conference and Symposium on the Foundations of Software Engineering. Along with ICSE, FSE (a.k.a ESEC/FSE) is one of the top 2 conferences in the field of software engineering.
“CSranking.org lists two flagship conferences for each area of computer science. In the field of software engineering, ICSE and FSE are two such conferences. Being a program chair for these flagship conferences is one of the most important technical recognitions in one’s field,” Kim said. Together with Cristian Cadar at Imperial College London, Professor Kim served as a program chair. The conference received 469 submissions, a new ESEC/FSE record. The program committee consisted of 120 PC members. Each paper received three reviews, resulting in 1489 peer reviews. ESEC/FSE 2022 accepted 99 papers, yielding the final acceptance rate to be22%, excluding desk rejections.
FSE 2022 continues the long, distinguished tradition of presenting the best and most innovative research in the field of software engineering, and facilitating interactions between scientists and engineers who are passionate about advancing the theory and practice of this field. FSE 2022 was held in Singapore from 14th to 18th of November, 2022. It was an in-person conference, where all presentations were live and in-person, as the world is coming out of the COVID 19 pandemic. Two years of virtual ESEC-FEC conferences (2020and 2021) made this in-person conference particularly esciting. FSE 2022 achieved a record participation number with 521 registered participants.
