Computer Science Department Professor Miryung Kim delivered a keynote address, “Software Developer Tools for Democratizing Heterogeneous Computing Applications,” on July 20th at the ACM SIGSOFT International Symposium on Software Testing and Analysis (ISSTA). ISSTA is the top conference on software testing and analysis.
Miryung Kim is a professor and a vice chair of Graduate Studies in UCLA Computer Science. She directs the Software Engineering and Analysis Laboratory. She helped define the new area of Software Engineering for Data Intensive Computing (SE4DA and SE4ML). In her keynote address, she described some of the technical challenges in making heterogeneity widely accessible to software developers and how the software engineering community should design new waves of refactoring, testing, and debugging tools to democratize heterogeneous application development.
