Professor Kai-Wei Chang and Professor Cho-Jui Hsieh have been awarded the 2021 Google Research Scholar Award. The Google Research Scholar Program aims to support early-career professors who are pursuing research in fields relevant to Google. The grant program provides $60,000 as an unstructured gift to support academic researchers.The award supports Prof. Chang’s research for developing robust algorithms to overcome the language difference in cross-lingual transfer and support Prof. Hsieh’s research on scalability and tunability for neural network optimizers.
