Professor Cho-Jui Hsieh has been presented the Samsung AI Researcher of the Year award. This award “recognizes individuals who have made outstanding research or contributions to the field of AI.”
An assistant professor in the UCLA Computer Science Department, Cho-Jui Hsieh has been working on improving the efficiency and robustness of machine learning systems in both training and inference time and has contributed to several widely used machine learning packages. Samsung has recognized him for “his work on improving robustness and efficiency of AI.”
