Professor Sriram Sankararaman has been named a 2017 Okawa Foundation Research Grant recipient for his research in “methods for inferring human population structure and its role in evolution and disease”. The $10,000 grant is awarded annually to researchers who show potential in the broad areas of fundamental fields, communications, computer systems, artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, applications, and humanities and social sciences. The awards ceremony will take place on September 20th at Hotel Nikko San Francisco.
