John R Busch Consulting
John is currently consulting with world class technology companies on technology strategy and architectures for emerging NVM. Prior to consulting, John was a Vice President and Senior Fellow at SanDisk Corporation until July 2015. At SanDisk, John led explorations into flash optimized data center solutions. Prior to SanDisk, John was the founder of Schooner Information Technology, which SanDisk acquired in June 2012. At Schooner, John lead the creation of flash-optimized databases and data stores. Prior to Schooner, John was director of computer system research at Sun Microsystems Laboratories from 1999 through 2006. At Sun Labs, John led research in multi-core processors, multi-tier scale-out architectures, and advanced high-performance computer systems. Prior to Sun, John was VP at Diba, Inc., co-founder of Clarity Software, and director of Computer Systems R&D at Hewlett Packard. John holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA, an M.A. in Mathematics from UCLA, an M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University.
John has numerous patents and publications. John’s community activities include: visiting professor at Zhejiang University; member of the UCLA Computer Science department advisory board; and member of the flash memory summit committee.
