exploretech.la received the “Emerging Star Award” for the 2019-2020 ESUC Student Group of the Year Awards. This award is given to an emerging student organization among the finalists that demonstrates significant growth and potential.
exploretech.la is an engineering student organization that aims to inspire and expose high school students to technology and engineering through their annual outreach event held at UCLA. The 3rd iteration of the event was held on March 6th, 2020 in Ackerman Grand Ballroom with over 200 high school students in attendance. The event included an exhibition hall featuring UCLA student organizations and interactive workshops and panels. The workshops gave students a chance to explore different topics in tech such as cryptography, circuit building, UI/UX, and more.
The event is supported by the UCLA Computer Science Department, Samueli Engineering, and several other corporate sponsors.
