Roderick Son currently works at Northrop Grumman, a global aerospace and defense technology company, as Sr. Health Informatics Research Scientist. He currently leads Health/Civil IT internal research and development investments addressing big data processing and analytics needs of federal and state customers. He has 10 years of experience in the information technology industry with specialized experience in medical and public health informatics.
Roderick is also a recruiter for Northrop Grumman’s Future Technical Leaders (FTL) rotational program, a recruiting and professional development opportunity for graduating M.S. and Ph.D. engineers, scientists and mathematicians, aimed at identifying and investing in Northrop Grumman’s next generation of technologists and leaders.
His primary focus areas include healthcare episode creation, clinical natural language processing, pattern classification, data analytics and business intelligence.
He received his B.S. and M.A. in Applied Mathematics and B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
