Third-year Ph.D. student Zhe Zeng was awarded the NEC Student Research Fellowship grant. The NEC Student Research Fellowship Program provides grants for Ph.D. and postdoctoral research in information and communication technology. Each awardee is assigned a senior research scientist to help achieve their research objectives.
Zeng’s research focuses on real-world modeling problems that involve heterogeneous data, specifically both discrete and continuous data, and on advancing probabilistic inference and designing learning approaches to cope with structured and heterogeneous data.
