Frank Xiong is a seasoned engineering executive with over 20 years of experience at several large enterprise software companies as well as start-ups.

Currently, Frank Xiong is the VP of Engineering in Entropia, Inc. Entropia is a leading software company in the Distributed Computing and Peer-to-Peer technology space. Its software products enable customers to execute applications using thousands of computers connected via Intranet and Internet in parallel, therefore expand the computing powers tremendously, and achieve enormous savings in execution time and hardware expenditures.

Xiong has extensive experience in managing software product development efforts based on a wide range of technologies and of environments. He has hands-on technical strength in project management, software architecture and design, Internet/network communications, client-server technology, object-oriented software development, data modeling, graphics, and image. From 1982 to 1994, Xiong worked at IBM in various technical and management positions, including Team Leader, Project Manager and Senior Development Manager. He was responsible for the full life-cycle development of multiple commercially marketed software application products in the areas of graphics, image, publishing and CAD/CAM/CIM. From 1994 to 2001, Xiong served in executive and leadership positions in Candle Corp., a $400 million software company specializing in Internet/network, e-Business, system, database and application monitoring and management products and tools for more than 5,000 enterprise customers worldwide. Prior joining Entropia, Xiong was the VP of R&D at Candle.

From 1986 to 2000, Xiong also taught programming languages, Windows programming, and computer graphics in UCLA and other institutes.

Xiong received his B.S. in computer science from San Francisco State University, and M.S. in computer science from UCLA. Xiong is the member of the UCLA Computer Science Alumni Advisory Board as well as the UCLA Extension Advisory Board.
