Two former UCLA VAST Lab researchers have been elected as IEEE Fellows.

Professor Sung Kyu Lim of the Georgia Institute of Technology has been elected for contributions to electronic design automation and the tradeoff for 3-dimensional integrated circuits.

Professor Zhiru Zhang of Cornell University has been elected for contributions to field-programmable gate array high-level synthesis and accelerator design.

Each year, the IEEE follows a rigorous evaluation procedure and selects a small group of recipients for elevation to IEEE Fellow. Less than 0.1% of voting members are chosen annually for this member grade elevation.
