ABSTRACT: Congratulations! You are a successful engineering student soon to graduate and embark on your career. No doubt you’ll find an internship or job opportunity. But what happens after you make that first career move? Data shows new college grads have about 2.85 jobs each in their initial 5 years in the workforce. Further, women job hop more than men as they fight for pay equity and professional advancement. How will you know when to make a change? And will you see the opportunity that change can bring? This talk discusses personal strategies and tactics I use to navigate when to stay and when to leave a position. BIO:
 Audrey Van Belleghem is the Senior Vice President of Operations and the Grace Hopper Celebration at AnitaB.org, a non-profit organization founded on the belief that women are vital to building technology that the world needs. The AnitaB.org social enterprise supports women in technical fields, as well as the companies that employ them and the academic institutions training the next generation. At AnitaB.org, Ms. Van Belleghem is responsible for the world’s largest conference for women technologists. The Grace Hopper Celebration will host 20,000 attendees from over 80 countries this September in Houston, Texas. Prior to joining AnitaB.org, Ms. Van Belleghem was Chief of Staff to the Executive Vice President of Product Operations at NetApp, a $6 billion Fortune 500 company providing innovative storage and data management solutions. Ms. Van Belleghem was named a Women of Influence by the San Jose/Silicon Valley Business Journal. Additional honors include recognition by the U.S. Department of State as a Technical Mentor to the TechWomen program, an initiative pairing leaders from Silicon Valley with their counterparts in the Middle East and North Africa. Ms. Van Belleghem is a member of the Industry Advisory Board for California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo Women’s Engineering Program. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from UCLA, and a Masters of Business Administration from the Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley.
