Sung-Hee Lee

Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, South Korea

I have recently joined the faculty of Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, South Korea. My new homepage is here.

I earned the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2008, and my dissertation is entitled "Biomechanical modeling and control of the human body for computer animation". My Ph.D. research advisor is Prof. Demetri Terzopoulos. My research interests are computer graphics and robotics. Specifically I am interested in physics-based modeling and control of human characters, motion planning and control of humanoid robots, multibody dynamics, and simulation of natural phenomena.

Books, Dissertations, and Book Chapters
Symbolic Dynamics and Geometry, Brian Guenter and Sung-Hee Lee, AK Peters, 2009. [book website]

"This book explains how to use the new symbolic differentiation system D* for applications in computer games and engineering simulation. The authors describe how to create procedural 3D geometric models, link them together to form multibody physical systems, and simulate and display their physical behavior in real time. [more...]"
