Brian Choi

I'm a Ph.D. student at UCLA.

Research

I study wireless networks in Network Research Lab, under the guidance of Professor Mario Gerla. I am currently examining different ways of using new wireless gadgets such as software defined radios and cognitive radios to enhance wireless experience.

About Me

I was born in Seoul, Korea, immigrated to the United States when I was 15, and have lived in California since then. (But I guess my Korean heritage is still strong enough to fit into this group of Korean scholars in the department.) After spending 4 years at Richard Gahr High School, I went to Northern California to study at University of California, Berkeley (Go Bears!), where I got my bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences in 2006, after which I came back to Los Angeles to chase after another degree. I took a summer off to work at Google in 2008, where I helped enhance a software tool that monitors servers.
