The Adventure Begins...

On Saturday, August 21, 1999, Iron Dave, a mild-mannered UCLA CSD graduate student whom I met at LANL, participated in the 25th annual Los Alamos Triathlon. Incredibly well-prepared with hours, if not a couple of days' worth, of training, he set out to prove to the world that he is indeed a world-class athlete. Dave told me to meet him at his apartment door at 6:30 AM, but I decided to take a walk around Los Alamos first.
