- Two midget
violinists Sanjeev and Nishanth Chandran, disciples of Kanyakumari played
with such competence as to awaken Carnatic music awareness among
youngsters. With dexterity they placed before the listeners the gana and
the naya method and even fastidious listeners were able to acknowledge
their musical heritage. The Hindu, September 24th 1995
- The violin duet of
two pre-teens, Sanjeev and Nishanth, was of such standard that the
audience was swept off their feet. What bowing! What fingering! The
knowledge of swaraprasthara technique they revealed was hard to describe. -- Subbudu
- Shyama Sastri's
Bhairavi swarajathi, a tough composition by itself was rendered
immaculately. Nishanth's voicing of the words along with the sahityam
portrayed the panoromic beauties of this raga and the composition.

- It was a
performance of harmony -
Harmony between two violins,
between
sukham and sangita,
between
dexterity and discipline,
between
talent and training.

- It beats me how
the young boy could comprehend the unique and intricate rhythmic cycles
and execute them with alacrity. Every poser had an instant retort,
and mind you in the same avarthanam.
