Welcome to my webpage! I'm a professor at UCLA Computer Science Department. I'm also a member of the Internet Architecture Board (IAB). If you would like to know a bit more about me, here is a short bio.
Some of My Current Research Interests:
  • How to Secure Large Scale and Open Systems, such as the Domain Name System (DNS) and global Internet routing infrastructure?
  • Network Architecture Design: How many necessary pieces and how do we know they are necessary?
  • Network Protocol Designs: Shall we start collecting a set of principles from past successes and lessons?
  • Here is one of my favorite Feymann quotes.
My research group: Internet Research Lab (IRL)

New Students: Welcome To UCLA!

IRL projects focus on Internet-related topics. The student offices are in 4805 & 4809 BH. Feel free to drop by if you are interested in learning more about what we are currently working on. To schedule a chat with me, please send me an
e-mail message.

I normally take on new graduate students from CS217 classes. My suggestion to new students is to dive into research projects right away. Mohit showed me the pointer to some excellent advice on independent studies by Prof. Brian Kernighan of Princeton University.
