Hello!

I am a second year Ph.D. Student in the Computer Science Department at UCLA. My Advisor is Prof. Adnan Darwiche. I do research in the Automated Reasoning Group. My research interests are in probabilistic reasoning, machine learning, stochastic analysis, and algorithm design.

News

September 2011, EDML was presented in SoCaML 2011.

July 2011, I attended UAI 2011.

Background

I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Computer Engineering from Cairo University, Egypt in 2007 and 2010, respectively.  I was lucky to be supervised by Prof. Amir Atiya. In my Masters thesis, I proposed a new classification framework that allows the definition of similarity feature vectors that can capture details about high dimensional patterns compactly.

I worked as a part-time research engineer at IBM Egypt while being a master student. After that, I joined LAAS CNRS, France as a research intern where I co-invented an efficient stochastic analysis of real-time systems using a random sampling approach. During my stay at LAAS, I was glad to be supervised by Dr. Pierre Emmanuel Hladik.
