Biography Gavin was born in Hong Kong in 1978 and he immigrated to the United States at the age of 9.  He received a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering at UCLA in June 2000.  Gavin then held full-time server software engineering positions at Informix Software and RSA Security.  He graduated with a Master degree (thesis path) in Computer Science at UCLA in December 2003.  He is currently a PhD student on leave from the Parallel Computing Laboratory under the direction of Dr. Rajive Bagrodia.  He enjoys world travel, politics, sailing, golf, and urban music.  He is a U.S. citizen.
