Jacquelyn Leong is currently working at Amgen, a leading human therapeutics company in the biotechnology industry, as a technical lead in the Enterprise Systems department. Amgen is her first job after graduating from UCLA with a Computer Science and Engineer degree. Within her time at Amgen she has played many roles include Business Analyst, Project Manager, Client Support Manager, and System Owner. As a technical lead she is pivotal in the deployment of ‘Commercial-off-the-shelf’ products. Jacquelyn also worked with Andrew Louie in facilitating Amgen’s Information System’s recruiting and other on-campus activities at UCLA.
When Jacquelyn is not working at Amgen she is working as an Executive Director of Project:Possibility, a non-profit , community service project committed to creating groundbreaking open source software for persons with disabilities. As an executive director she is in charge of organizing the Project:Possibility events such as the SS12 weekend coding competition (http://ss12.info) and SWE team tech. While being an executive director, Jacquelyn expanded Project:Possibility’s SS12 event to UCLA and CSUN.
While attending UCLA, Jacquelyn was very active with the Society of Women Engineers. She served as the Evening With Industry chair and External Vice President. Jacquelyn continues to be involved with SWE UCLA as a member of the Alumni Advisory Board. She also actively volunteers at Engineering Open House and recently spoke at Engineering Welcome Day.
