Speaker: Yanen Li
Affiliation: Snapchat

ABSTRACT: Snapchat is the biggest ephemeral social network in the world in which more than 170 million users express themselves and live in the moment. In such a large ephemeral social network there are many types of information that will disappear in every second. It is very challenging to analyze and understand the users’ real interests and further improve users’ experience. In this talk I will introduce some of our works on doing Personalized Recommendations in Snapchat. I will first talk about the Recommendation Engine architecture that processes hundreds of millions of recommendations daily. Then I will talk about some interesting research works in Machine Learning and Deep Learning that lead to better personalized recommendations in Snapchat. BIO: Yanen Li is a Senior Research Scientist at Snap Research.
