Prof. Reiher received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University
of Notre Dame in 1979, and his M.S. and Ph.D in Computer Science from UCLA in
1983 and 1987. He has worked on various distributed operating systems projects
at UCLA and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Dr. Reiher's research interests include
distributed operating systems, distributed file systems, security issues in
distributed systems, and the use of optimistic methods in systems software.
