Elias Koutsoupias was born in Greece in 1963. He received his B.S. in
Electrical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece
in 1987 and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California,
San Diego in 1994 and he joined the Computer Science Department at UCLA the
same year. His research interests include on-line algorithms,
decision-making under uncertainty, design and analysis of algorithms,
randomized algorithms, complexity theory, and distributed computation.
