Experience
Andrew Louie is currently the Vice President of Information
Technology at IRIS International, an industry leading
medical device manufacturer. Prior to joining IRIS,
Andrew was a Director of Information Systems at Amgen
where he established and led the Amgen IS Corporate Infrastructure
Organization and also sponsored the organization’s
recruiting and other on-campus activities at UCLA.
Prior to these roles, Andrew was a Senior Manager with Deloitte & Touche, where he led strategic initiatives for senior executives of major Fortune 100 Companies. Andrew specialized in the delivery of multi-year business and technology strategies and the design of global Information Technology organizations with a key focus in the areas of e-Business, Identity Management, Corporate Compliance, Information Security and Technology Infrastructure.
In addition to Andrew’s involvement with the Alumni Advisory Board for the UCLA Computer Science Department, Andrew is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Origin Dance Theater, a newly established non-profit organization focused on expanding the awareness of the cultural arts.
Education
Andrew was the Commencement Speaker at the UCLA School
of Engineering and Applied Sciences graduation ceremony
where he received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science & Engineering. While
attending UCLA, Andrew worked for two years as a System
Administrator on the Ficus Computer Science Research
Project. He was also the Service Chair for the
Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society and on the Advisory
Board of the Golden Key National Honor Society.
