The Journal of Optical Networking (JON) is the Optical Society of
America's online-only journal dedicated to scientific papers and
reports in the field of optical networking.

Headed by Editor-in-Chief Richard A. Barry, Sycamore Networks, JON's
editorial board includes Mark Allen, Valiant Networks; Keren Bergman,
Tellium, Inc.; Steve Joiner, Agilent; Cedric Lam, AT&T; Muriel Medard,
MIT; and Danny Tsang, Hong Kong University of Science and
Technology.

Article topics include (but are not limited to):
  * Circuit and packet switched all-optical & electro-optic networks
  * Optical network architectures, algorithms, performance, management
  * Networking aspects (architectures, control, management, design,
    performance, etc.) of terrestrial, undersea, free-space optical,
    satellite, wireless, cable networks
  * Protection & restoration mechanisms, architectures, performance
  * Wavelength routing, assignment, changing
  * Grooming architectures & algorithms
  * Network security & reliability
  * Signaling & routing algorithms
  * IP over Optical & Optical Ethernet architectures & performance
  * Network management for optical networks
  * Emerging technologies & their application to optical networks

JON also accepts high-quality technical papers on industry-related
topics, including technical and architectural analysis of hotly
debated topics such as RSVP v. CR-LDP for signaling and routing in
optical networks; protection mechanisms in the public network
infrastructure; o/e/o v. o/o/o switching; economic comparisons of
different architectures; and comments/analysis on optical networking
standards activities.

Accepted articles enjoy the rapid publication afforded by an online
journal. JON does not have mandatory page charges and all multimedia
figures are also welcomed at no charge.
