Postdoc Graduate Undergraduate Other Apply The ZarLab is looking for individuals who are interested in solving very challenging computational problems which will have a large impact in biological and medical sciences. Typical students in the lab have a very strong computational or quantitative background and who are interested in biological problems. About half of the students who start in the lab had little or no biological background when they started. Postdoc positionsA postdoc position is available in the lab for an individual with a proven track record in computation or genomics. Graduate StudentsUCLA Graduate Students are welcome to start a project in our research group. In particular, Computer Science or related discipline students with little biological background are very welcome. We will teach you the biology you need to know. Students from other institutions must be admitted to UCLA before they can join the group. Interested students should apply either directly to the Computer Science Department or to the UCLA Inter-department Bioinformatics Program. UndergraduatesUndergraduates who are interested in working on a research project are encouraged to take the CS124 course or another bioinformatics course and then join the lab. Opportunities for course credit for research are possible either through a CS199 course or through the Computer Science department Honors Program. OthersWe are not offering short term internships for non-local students. Overseas requests for several months internships will not be answered. Internships are possible for local individuals.
